We present a GPS based system which allows to recover the inventory points of last year’s federal wood inventory in an easier and faster way than by conventional means. Navigation and positioning are performed using a pen PC which is linked to a GPS receiver and on which an Access database and the Visual Basic program BWI-Nav are implemented. On the PC screen the own position and the point to be found are shown by BWI-Nav on the screen. When the antenna position approaches to the searched point, the program reveals more and more details to help in the orientation, and eventually leads the user near enough to the metal mark such that he can find it by a metal detector.

The time saving caused by the use of BWI-Nav was approximately 50%, moreover it implicates a considerable work facilitation and less hazards for the inventory troops.

Estas prezentata GPS-bazita sistemo, kiu permesas retrovi la inventarpunktojn de la lastjara federaciua arbarinventaro pli facile kaj rapide ol per tradiciaj rimedoj. Navigado kaj determino de la pozicio estas faritaj helpe de Pen-PK, kiu estas ligita al GPS-ricevilo kaj sur kiu estas instalitaj Access-datenbanko kaj la Visual-Basic-programo BWI-Nav. Tiu programo montras sur la ekrano la propran pozicion kaj la trovendan punkton. Dum la pozicio de la anteno alproksimiĝas al la serĉata punkto, la programo montras pli kaj pli da detaloj por helpi por orientiĝo kaj finfine gvidas la uzanton tiom proksimen al la metalmarko, ke li povas trovi ĝin per metaldetektilo.

La tempoŝparo dum laborado kun BWI-Nav estis ĉ. 50%, al tio aldoniĝas grava laborfaciligo kaj malpli granda danĝero por la inventaristoj.

Es wird ein GPS-gestütztes System vorgestellt, mit dem die Inventurpunkte der letzten Bundeswaldinventur leichter und schneller wiedergefunden werden können als mit herkömmlichen Mitteln. Navigation und Einmessung werden mit Hilfe eines Pen-PC’s durchgeführt, der mit einem GPS-Empfänger verbunden ist und auf dem eine Access-Datenbank und das Visual-Basic-Programm BWI-Nav installiert sind. BWI-Nav zeigt am Bildschirm die eigene Position und den gesuchten Punkt. Bei zunehmender Annäherung der Antennenposition an den gesuchten Punkt zeigt das Programm immer weitere Details als Orientierungshilfe und führt den Benutzer schließlich so nahe an die Metallmarke heran, dass er sie mit dem Metalldetektor auffinden kann.

Die Zeitersparnis beim Arbeiten mit BWI-Nav betrug etwa 50%, dazu kommt eine wesentliche Arbeitserleichterung und geringere Gefährdung für die Inventurtrupps.
